GRP/FRP Pole
GRP/FRP Pole is a new kind of pole that is made from matrix material called FRP composite material and made through a variety of molding process. As a pillar support structure, GRP/FRP pole has been used in many areas, such as transmission lines, distribution lines, lightening, communication lines, communication towers, lightning conductors and so on. It is an excellent replacement of traditional poles, such as wood, concrete, or steel poles. In recent years, several domestic companies and research institutions have carried out the development of composite poles in China and achieved some progress. Our GRP/FRP pole are formed in a single process under high temperature and high pressure by using self-developed patented technologies. The main raw materials are modified epoxy resin and E-glass fiber. Our products have high fiber content, good oriented height in the stress direction, and good compactness, so they have greatly improved performances in strength, stiffness, fatigue resistance and impact properties over similar products. All raw materials are available domestically and the molding process is fully optimized, so the cost performance ratio is much superior to other similar products and meets the needs of the domestic market..
Our GRP/FRP poles are tapered hollow tubes, whose section is circular or regular polygon and the top is covered. Their bearing capacity, structure and dimensions correspond with traditional product specifications, so it is easy to replace traditional ones used in projects while maintaining their accessories. Special specifications can be made according to customers’ requirements. Due to the advantages of the material properties and molding process, we can make GRP/FRP poles which have greater bearing capacity and higher poles than traditional ones, so we can solve the bottleneck difficulties of traditional concrete poles. Composite poles can be buried directly, or be mounted on a concrete base by the flange connection. They can be used in various harsh environments.

1. Light weight
The GRP/FRP poles’ weight is only a tenth of a concrete pole and a third of a wood pole of the same type. For example, as a 190-12m pole, the weight of a concrete pole is 1100kg, while the GRP/FRP pole weighs just 120kg. A GRP/FRP pole can be carried by two workers and can be easily installed erectly by hand. Thus, it is especially suited for mountain areas, marshes or other areas that are difficult to access. They can greatly improve efficiency and reduce the transportation and installation costs during reconstruction works after natural disasters, such as floods, typhoons, earthquakes or others.
2. Fatigue and Impact resistance
GRP/FRP poles have good fatigue resistance and toughness. They do not develop crack damages under the action of the long-term alternating loads. They have higher safety margin than traditional products. When overloaded (such as in typhoon weather), they are able to endure a great bending deformation and do not break; when unloaded, they can restore with no residual deformation. GRP/FRP poles also have good impact resistance. In general, they do not produce brittle fracture. With that, they can help reducing the road accident risk when being used on roadsides.
3. Corrosion resistance
GRP/FRP poles have a very good corrosion resistance. They can be used in acid rain, salt fog, chemical pollution or other harsh environments in the long term, so they have unique advantages over traditional materials. They can be directly buried in salt-alkaline soils or seaside areas without affecting their service lives.
4. Insulation and Wave-transparent
FRP composite material has good electrical insulation, so using composite poles can improve safety of line operation and maintenance. They can help prevent lightning as well as leakage injury accidents. GRP/FRP poles does not hinder the transmission of electromagnetic waves and radar waves, so they are suitable for using in communications, space surveillance or other industries.
